What is a Enterprise PMO?

An Enterprise PMO or ePMO is a PMO which sits at a senior level within an organisation, very much like the Portfolio Office.

The term – ePMO – is generally more recognised in the States and internationally – and is adopted by international organisations based in the UK.

An ePMO is defined as:

Enterprise PMO (EPMO) is a centralized business function which operates at strategic level with the enterprise executives and provides enterprise wide support on governance,
project portfolio management best practices, mentoring, tools and standardized processes. EPMO ensures strategic alignment between business objectives and projects executed. Source
The roles found within an ePMO are the same as those found in the Portfolio Office; Programme Office and Project Offices.
