I came across an article the other day that mentioned the fact that some organisations are still clinging to the hope of IR35 being postponed. Unwilling to start preparing for the changes incoming this April.
It’s amazing to think that there are still people out there that believe this will happen despite there being no signs given at all from the government. With IR35 expected to be such a big earner for the government after a year of high costs it’s hard to see them making such a big U-Turn.
The best-case scenario is another postponement rather than full cancellation, meaning you should still be preparing for the changes anyway!
We have said this many times at this point but, now is the time to start preparing! If you engage or supply contractors, there are some important tax changes you need to be making. Which you can see in Gov.uk’s Employer Bulletin
We have also released numerous guides and overviews of the legislation (linked below) on the blog over the last year which we recommend you take a look at if you still haven’t prepared for April 6th, 2021.
