Arras People first started because the directors had previously worked as programme managers, project managers and project office managers.
When a once in a lifetime opportunity came along to start their own business, they saw a gap in the market and had experienced first hand how difficult it was to recruit project management professionals. Arras People was launched as a high quality project management recruitment service.
After a successful first year in business, Arras People had already been working with clients such as VISA, Barclays, National Police Improvement Agency and T-Mobile.
With a new tender from the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) Arras People became a preferred supplier for public sector project management recruitment.
We first introduced the Project Management Careers Clinics due to popular demand. Arras receives calls every day from people wanting to talk about their careers. They often have questions about qualifications; how to move on in their careers or get some advice about their CVs.
We wanted to make sure we were giving the best advice possible based on each person’s individual experiences so it made sense to offer 30 minute 1-2-1 sessions.
Project Management Careers Clinics are still a very popular service with around 10 sessions per week. See the careers clinic service
It feels like such a long time ago now but online advertising; recruitment databases and managing candidates expectations were all still in its infancy.
Arras People launched its candidate registration system – aProfile – which enabled us to proactively manage candidate registrations and contact.
We’ve come a long way since that day and now use a recruitment system customised for project management skilling and profiling.
Arras People started the Project Management Benchmark Report – and it’s still going strong today.
The Report gives us a snapshot of the project management profession in the UK and each year includes salary and rate levels; insights into project management qualifications and covers special areas each year based on developments in the job market and economy.
