Purpose

Programme Support Professional required for a 3 month contract initially to support a high profile programme of work within Central London. The role primarily involves working with the PMO manager to provide continuous lifecycle support across multiple projects and workstreams. You will maintain a common and consistent project management approach and use standard tools to support this complex programme of work.

Role responsibilities:

~ Provide support for multiple workstreams

~ Facilitate risk & issue workshops

~ Ensure best practice is applied across the programme

~ Analyse project management plans, logs and registers, monitoring progress and report on project status

~ Set up and maintain project files

~ Coordinate activity in the project plan to ensure delivery

~ Design, implement and communicate project-related systems and tools

This is an excellent opportunity for a Programme level Support professional looking to work within a dynamic team to support a large complex high profile programme of work with the opportunity to influence and establish Programme Support practices.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Programme Support Office, enjoy working with a wide range of people, and be comfortable in a complex environment where priorities can change rapidly to suit stakeholder demands.

Skills

  • Project and portfolio support experience (i.e. Project/Programme Office) with specific experience of analysing the planning, monitoring and control of projects, team building, risk management and change control
  • Experience of working within a structured project management environment actively using principles and tools (i.e. APM, PMI, PRINCE2)
  • High degree of IT literacy, including MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and databases
  • Experience of using Sharepoint would be advantageous
  • Strong confident personality, build trust and earn respect quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with confidence to engage with people at all levels of seniority, including stakeholders and suppliers

  • Good problem solver with the ability to proactively tackle issues and see tasks through to completion
  • Tenacious in obtaining information from people and in following up on detail
  • Excellent communication skills - able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and technical specialists
  • Quick thinking and can work on own initiative
  • Must have the gravitas to be able to challenge and effectively converse with senior stakeholders
