Updating your registration information
You can update the registration information you have provided to us by following the update procedure included in the registration section of the web site. If you up-date your information, the new information will replace the old registration information we have stored on Arras' internal system. However, if you have previously submitted a curriculum vitae (CV), you should resubmit an up-dated CV as well as updating your registration information on Arras' web site as Arras may not check that the information you entered on the web site and the information in your CV are consistent. Note that Arras may implement a system that allows us to check that changes to your registration information on Arras' web-site are reflected in the other information Arras may keep in the records discussed under the heading 'Curriculum Vitae' below. By registering with Arras, you agree to this possible use of your registration information.

We would appreciate it if you would update your registration details and CV whenever your details change. We are reliant on you supplying us with a factually accurate and complete picture of you, your experience and requirements.

Curriculum Vitae
The Arras web site allows you to submit your CV to Arras either with your Registration details or directly by email to an Arras consultant in response to a particular job offered on the site. Your CV will be stored on Arras' internal computer system. Access to the Arras computer system is password protected.
Once Arras has obtained your CV, Arras will enter summaries of the information contained in your CV to create a record about you on our internal computer system. Arras may add to the information obtained from your CV with written or verbal information taken directly from you. The only information that will be added to the record about you on Arras' internal computer system will be information which is considered necessary or helpful and is intended to assist in the recruitment process.

Arras will not send your CV to organisations with vacancies for which you may be appropriate without your express consent. However, Arras may send a profile of your skills and experience to select organisations. The profile would be created from your CV and other written or verbal information you have provided, but would not have any identifying information about you such as your name, contact details or the names of your previous employers. Arras understands that if you have a rare skill, it may be possible to identify you even without the identifying information mentioned above.

If you do not want Arras to send profiles out to prospective employers, please contact the web administrator at info@arraspeople.co.uk

We are committed to a policy of equal opportunities for all and shall adhere to such a policy at all times.

In accordance with existing as well as imminent equal opportunities (subordinate) legislation, including but not limited to the Race Relations Act 1976 (as amended), the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (as amended), and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (as amended). Arras treats everyone equally irrespective of sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, race, colour, religion, ethnic or national origin, membership or non-membership of a trade union, working hours or whether on a fixed term or permanent contract. Moreover, Arras reviews, on an on-going basis, all aspects of recruitment to avoid unlawful or undesirable discrimination or harassment on those grounds.

Arras is committed to providing equal opportunities training for staff through corporate membership of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). The REC, as the governing body for the Recruitment Industry, ensures that corporate members and their staff meet current equal opportunities standards. Our staff are obliged to respect and act in accordance with this policy.

Arras is committed to treating all full-time and part-time workers and job applicants (actual and potential) fairly and selection of employment, promotion, training or any other benefit will be based on relevant merits, aptitude and ability. In addition, Arras does not directly or indirectly discriminate when deciding which candidates are submitted for a vacancy or assignment or in any terms of employment or engagement. Arras ensures that each candidate is assessed solely in accordance with the candidate's merits, qualifications and abilities to perform the relevant duties required by the particular vacancy.

Furthermore, Arras will not accept instructions from clients that indicate that an element of unlawful discrimination or harassment will be brought to fruition unless there are genuine occupational requirements or other legislative exceptions detailed in the instructions. It is our intention to work with organisations that have a similar equal opportunities policy to Arras.

Workers who believe they have suffered any form of discrimination, harassment or victimisation are encouraged to raise the matter with Arras. Any complaint will be dealt with seriously and without undue delay.

Any breach of this policy by employees of Arras will be treated as misconduct, or in the case of serious breaches, gross misconduct. Where appropriate, disciplinary action will be taken, which could in serious cases, lead to dismissal with or without notice or payment in lieu of notice. In addition, individuals can be held personally liable for acts of discrimination/ harassment that they commit, authorise, contribute to or condone.

This policy is not contractual but is a statement of the current Arras policy. Arras reserves the right to amend the policy as necessary to meet any change in requirements.
