Project Manager – Power/Nuclear
Purpose: Permanent Project Manager required to manage development and implementation of controls systems for our power/nuclear related client. Reporting to the Implementation Manager you will lead a team of specialists in the development of software biased solutions.
Candidates will need to have demonstrable experience of managing complex projects in the power/nuclear or large scale chemical processing industries. You will ideally have an understanding of control systems programming (e.g. PLC and SCADA) although exceptional candidates with higher level programming skills who can demonstrate the ability to learn will also be considered. Working closely with the clients and partners will utilise your above average communication skills, whilst managing your team will test your leadership and team management abilities.
This role will suit a project manager who is looking for the opportunity to make a real difference within a close-knit niche team. Role Description:
- Managing Control Systems / I.T. projects in the Nuclear sector to demanding timescales
- Ensuring that Projects are delivered to timescales, specification and budget
- Full financial responsibility for projects ranging from £100K - Millions in value
- People-management responsibility for leading and motivating a team of software engineers (typically 5 to 10+)
- Hold regular report and progress meetings with clients
- Provide front line consultancy and facilitation to clients in the early stages of potential projects
- Assist in securing future business by cultivating customer expectations through excellent delivery
- Responsibility for Quality Control for all projects involved

Skills:
- Demonstrable full project management experience delivering Software Engineering solutions with a track record of success
- Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Project
- Must have good customer facing skills
- Strong leadership skills, including team management experience
- Current driving licence
Person Specification:
- A recognized project management qualification (for example, PRINCE 2, APMP) and/or certified training
- Ideally been involved with graduate engineer development within projects
- Solid grasp of Quality Management in an ISO9001 environment
- Recent experience of project proposals and general bid work
