Project Manager - Mechanical

Purpose: Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager required to join an organisation that prides itself on delivering on promises and plain speaking. You will take technical and commercial responsibility for the successful delivery of pipework and process plant projects.

You will monitor and administer contracts and associated sub-contracts taking responsibility for the planning and control of all matters including purchasing, stock control and budget reports. You will review contract documentation to determine technical and commercial compliance and identify risk. Liaising with the client throughout you will allocate support resources in addition to managing sub-contractors. A good project manager is always on the look out for the next opportunity and the client in this instance has the foresight to include working with team members to produce/introduce information that will give the organisation a competitive edge with your remit.

Role descriptions for the Project Manager vs. Deputy are largely the same - the main operational difference will be that the deputy will work on smaller scale projects or assist a Project Manager on particularly large budget works. The client expects to see a marked difference in the level of experience between candidates applying for the Project Manager vacancy compared to the Deputy role.

Experience of delivering mechanical projects is imperative to the role. Whether these be pipework projects, valves or fittings you will have a demonstrable delivery record which will have also equipped you with some experience in managing the minor civil works that accompany such projects. Health and Safety compliance is non-negotiable so your ability to demonstrate a proficient understanding of requirements in a gas or (petro) chemical environment will be verified.
