Project Manager - Energy

Purpose: Project Manager required to co-ordinate suppliers to deliver energy supplies to a commercial client base. Our client offers integrated energy solutions within the UK and requires a lively and tenacious Project Manager to manage the metering process.

Your portfolio of 5-6 clients will depend on you to liaise with in-house staff and sub-contractors to ensure successful delivery of their supplies. Experienced in stakeholder management and familiar with working in a client facing role you will implement reporting techniques to ensure your client is kept fully abreast of progress. Your communications skills will support your daily interaction with the client and assist you in gaining the favour of regional utility company points of contact. Your project tracking and organisational ability will allow you to be constantly on top of what can be a complex schedule and you will be quick to resolve impediments to delivery of your plans. Commercially aware, you will take responsibility for maximising the profitability of your schedules and implement financial reporting procedures to track costs. Allocating resources to your work schedules will entail the ability to liaise with staff at all levels and logistic skills to ensure all resources have correct supplies and equipment required for each work stage.

Based in either Oxford/Berkshire or Nottinghamshire you will be required to travel between the two once a week but there is some flexibility to work from home on other days.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a good opportunity for candidates looking to make an immediate impact in an organisation undergoing change.

Scope:

  • Customers – liaison on day to day basis to keep customers abreast of project timelines. Provide project status update reports as required.
  • Sales – determination of the scope, preparation of project management plans for feedback to clients
  • Operations – for the coordination of resources relevant to each project
  • Finance – for project tracking and reporting expenses and project costs, manages the project budget
  • Logistics / Administration – for the coordination of metering equipment and supplies required for the fulfilment of the project


Duties:

  • Creates and executes metering project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Identifies resource needs and works closely with the operations team to ensure delivery
  • Manages day to day aspects of the project and the scope
  • Application of a generic project management methodology for consistency of process and management
  • Prepares for project updates and engagement reviews with clients
  • Ensures project documents are current, complete and stored appropriately
  • Project accounting, including tracking and reporting expenses and project costs, manages the project budget
  • Analyses project profitability, revenues, margins, bill rates and utilization
