Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Purpose: Our client, a leading consultancy organisation are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to provide quantity surveying assistance where required in the execution of basic office, technical and surveying functions commensurate with age, experience and ability.

Responsibilities

  • Numerical functions
  • Preparation of documentation
  • Elementary surveying duties in relation to both pre and post contract duties. Responsible, under guidance of Team Leader or Senior for small or non complex highways projects or assistance on larger or more complex projects


Requirements

  • BSc, or equivalent, in Quantity Surveying
  • MRICS
  • Minimum five years highways experience
  • Tidy appearance
  • Punctuality
  • Numerically accurate
  • Logical and concise application of technical surveying principles as directed and under guidance
  • Continual improvement in the general knowledge of the construction industry
  • Sensible referral of problems to Team Leader/Senior Staff
  • Increasing awareness of contractual obligations, breaches and remedies
  • Competent of taking ownership of small projects with minimum supervision
  • IT literate in Word Excel and Estimating/Measurement/Cost control software

Additional Information

  • Candidates should have a right to work in UK, although we will consider obtaining a Work Permit, if appropriate
