Programme Manager

Purpose: Our client, an information solutions organisation based in the City, is looking for a Programme Manager to join their organisation in a senior role.

Main role is to ensure that the programme is planned and executed as defined in the programme brief;

  • It successfully delivers the required business benefits in line with the programme vision and such that change, design and delivery elements are balanced effectively
  • To ensure that the projects, established for each Phase, deliver the products expected without breaking programme constraints of time, cost and functionality


This role will suit a Senior Programme Manager with 5 – 10 years’ experience. Some of this experience will have involved running a portfolio of projects ie. running several business projects concurrently, preferably in an outsourced document management environment, (although not essential).

May require travel and out-of-town stays within the UK, for one or two days per week.

Salary Guide: £55-£65k + excellent benefits
 
Start Date: As soon as possible. Candidates are expected to be available for an initial assessment on either Wed 16th, Thu 17th or Fri 18th March, in London (City).
 
Skills:

  • To co-ordinate and manage the activities of the Design Authority, Change Managers and Project Managers and to facilitate the necessary trade-offs between them
  • To develop and manage plans for each successive Phase of the programme that are consistent with the original programme brief
  • To co-ordinate the management of stakeholders
  • To manage the programme on a 'day-to-day' basis on behalf of the Programme Director, and to report status
  • To manages the programme risks and issues
  • To co-ordinate the activities of the Programme Office
  • To maintain a viable portfolio of projects that meet the product delivery schedule and satisfy the acceptance criteria required by the Change Manager and Design Authority
  • To control project initiation and close down
  • To develop implementation plans with Project Managers, Domain Managers and Business Units to the agreed programme and project management methodology, managing schedule and resource dependencies and conflict between projects
  • To initiate management actions in response to project progress reports (achievement, productivity and risk)
  • Initiate and instil the need for project visibility within the programme
