Principal Consultant (IT/Management Consultancy)
Purpose: Our client, a blue-chip consultancy organisation is looking for Principal Consultants to join their organisation in a permanent role in two main locations – Surrey and South Wales.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join an organisation with major planned business growth over the next few years. Reporting to the Divisional Director or Managing Consultant you will typically have a good consultancy background, new business development skills and good experience of business management and IT consulting.
You will play a prominent role in business development by identifying and exploiting new business opportunities, developing client relationships and contributing to business development strategies. Having worked in either a managerially or technically focused role you will have in-depth consultancy experience at a senior level or a prominent position in industry and be able to demonstrate good commercial acumen coupled with your proven ability to contribute to client performance and to develop a fee income. Using your 10 years experience in varied and challenging environments you will have responsibility for the management of key clients, or an industry sector or new initiatives. You will manage a significant team of personnel either in line management, project/programme management, or both. As a senior member of management you will be expected to undertake key client or business roles and potentially manage a department and/or regional office.
One role will be in Surrey and one role will be in South Wales please state your preferred location when applying.

Skills:
- Proven track record in successful programme / project delivery (public and/or private sector)
- Can demonstrate a mature, trustworthy approach to managing clients, programmes and staff
- 10 years experience in varied and challenging environments - either managerially or technically focused
- In-depth consultancy experience at a senior level or a prominent position in industry
- Commercial acumen and a proven ability to contribute to client performance and to develop fee income
- Able to take on business/regional office management responsibility
- Proven ability to maintain the balance required between the business/corporate needs and staff needs
- Have managed a range of activity and is becoming interested and knowledgeable about our clients other business
- Likely a good first degree, often with a second degree (e.g. MSc. or MBA), especially where the IT and/or business content of the first degree course maybe low
