Project Manager – Information Management - Healthcare

Purpose: Our client requires a Project Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a high profile work stream within their Intelligent Information Programme.

As a key member of this large ongoing programme you will manage the delivery of information management and technology projects which support business change. This includes; Supporting the (FoI) Freedom of Information Act implementation; Documenting existing processes and securing business continuity of key systems; Establishing a single process for the management of Information Management and Technology projects and procurement; Establishment of a cross organisation contact management system.

  • As part of the Freedom of Information Act implementation you will be involved in;
    • establishing the Information Asset Register
    • reviewing working practices for Document Management
  • You will be responsible for managing a combination of internal projects and external consultants / contractors to achieve the agreed objectives of you work stream
  • You will ensure that the projects are delivered within agreed timescales and budget
  • Working with the Business Analysis team, you will ensure that the projects in your work stream meet the needs of the business owners
  • You will manage and operate Project Boards ensuring correct governance of the projects


Location: Central London / Manchester base with some UK wide travel

Type: Contract

Salary Guide: To £450 per day

Start Date: ASAP - Jan 2005 (6 month Contract)


Skills:

  • Have direct experience of managing information management and technology projects supporting business change programmes
  • Have experience of managing “value” from suppliers and projects to ensure the best use of project resources
  • Exposure to structured / peer review processes ideally including the Office for Government Commerce (OGC)
  • Have experience of managing and working with senior and executive management
  • A customer / service orientation that enables you to be an advocate for a delivery culture
  • Have experience of managing a mixture of internal and external staff
  • Be able to travel within England and Wales working with regional offices and project teams


Like to have:

  • Experience of PRINCE.
  • Have experience of managing procurement processes including the negotiation of contracts and contribute to the agreement of terms and conditions.
  • Experience of Healthcare Informatics within a public or independent setting
