Project Planner - Engineering Industry

Purpose: A Project Planner is required by our client, who specialises globally in Engineering. The purpose of this role is to provide pro-active and efficient high level programme planning in conjunction with Project and Resource Managers within the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist in this industry’s field.

Reporting to the Operations Manager key responsibilities would include:

• Developing and maintaining a suite of integrated design, procurement and manufacturing programme plans in close collaboration with project teams (internal departments, suppliers and clients)
• Monitor, progress and update the programme plans with the project teams and assist with resource planning
• Create ‘what if’ planning scenario’s based upon project manager requirements
• Forecast and highlight (where applicable) programme deficiencies
• Excellent comprehension of planning principles – WBS, earned value etc
• Be flexible to widen planning role to cover Project Support activities in other key areas
• Candidates should have experience of working in a supporting role where there is interaction with internal clients and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced project planner looking to build and expand on their career within programme and project planning
• The successful candidate should be security cleared at basic level due to nature of business

• Fully conversant with demonstrable practical experience and knowledge in all key areas of planning
• HNC Engineering qualified
• MS Project expert

• Client facing skills
• Security cleared at Basic Level
• Full drivers licence
