Director of Corporate Governance (Up to 6 months)
Purpose: To ensure the company adheres to internal and external standards as defined by the corporate plan, all stakeholders, and external corporate organisations and bodies.
To ensure the company operates to quality standards that meet their stakeholder’s perception.

Salary Guide: Circa £80K per annum - pro rata

Skills Compliance & Regulation
- To ensure all areas of the business, regulated by an external organisation or group, comply with the requirements of the standard as laid down
- To audit all regulated products and services in order they comply with current standards and continually improve to meet ongoing changes
- To work with all product providers, inte<rnal departments and stakeholders, to develop new initiatives where compliance, and regulation, assist in developing organisational profile
Data Protection
- To undertake Data Protection education throughout the organisation
- To set up Data Protection procedures throughout the organisation and police accordingly
- Set up internal data protection audit system to ensure compliance throughout the organisation
- Work with Product suppliers in ensuring all data feeds are compliant with Data Protection regulations
Quality Control and Customer standards
- Set up quality audit process to ensure compliance with external quality agencies and internal quality accounts initiatives
- To ensure all customer complaints are dealt with in an efficient and expedient manner to include all internal organisations
- Implement a Customer Complaints process that measures customer complaint feedback and where corrective action assists in the development of a continual improvement culture
Performance review
- Assist the Strategic Management team in evaluating the value added benefit of KPI’s implemented and used to evaluate the business performance
- Benchmark the company's KPIs with external organisations to ensure the organisation continues to grow and develop in line with strategy and drive, ahead of our competitors
- Assist in developing a culture of assessing and implementing KPI’s throughout all areas, where individual performance can be measured against the overall business KPIs
Stakeholders
- Support the Managing Director in building relationships with all stakeholders and delivering measurable information and feedback on the business
- Work in partnership with the federation to develop initiatives and service standards
People Management
- Ensure all staff have regular performance reviews and are managed in line with Investors in People Best Practise
- Handle all grievance and disciplinary issues in line with current policy
- Undertake regular training and evaluation feedback sessions
- Hold regular team briefings and meetings which embrace feedback and the sharing of ideas
- Ensure the company's corporate objectives are shared with the team, with particular relevance to setting individual performance and team objectives
- Comply strictly to the company's Equal Opportunities policy and code of conduct
Person Specification
Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience managing a role in Corporate Governance or at least where 60% of the role was related to corporate governance
- Demonstrable experience of the FSA Regulations, Compliance and the financial services industry
- Demonstrable experience of Managing regulated standards i.e. ASAP, IiP, FSA, H&S, Care Standards, Charities commission, IS09002 etc
- Previous experience of a working within an environment committed to achieving quality standards
- Ability to review and analyse contracts of service and measure performance
- Experience of contract law
- Ability to implement processes and procedures that establish corporate governance within an organisation
- Ability to manage and implement procedures and processes that manage stakeholder perception
- Capacity to understand the interrelationship of operating a regulated organisation within a charitable environment
- Excellent people management skills including demonstrable experience of undertaking annual reviews, training needs evaluation and managing performance in general
- Experienced and committed to managing a workforce in a diverse culture
- Commitment to Investors in People standards
- Competent IT skills including all MS office applications
- Self disciplined character
- Articulate and attentive to detail
- Ability to contribute to the wider organisation and senior management team in particular areas of expertise
