VT Four S is one of the largest school support service organisations in the country, providing consultancy, advice, training and development and project management to schools, local authorities and on behalf of central government.
Arras People had a slightly more experienced role to recruit for
Though Arras People generally is seen as a Project Management Recruitment firm, VT Four S was asking for a General Manager required to run a £20m and 150 employee business. The GM would be reporting to the Managing Director direct and control operations as well as growing the strategic account with Surrey County Council. This role was outside of the standard project management role, as it was more of an operations position. Many of the qualities were similar and we felt confident in identifying a suitable candidate. The standard Arras People process was used.
Finding the way to compromise and placement
One particular candidate quickly became evident as a good General Manager to put forward, and whilst the salary was significantly less than they were used to, the candidate liked the job sufficiently to continue with the process.
Additional work was required to maintain momentum, especially given that the candidate was continually being offered roles at a much higher salary. In the end, the challenge of the role was something both parties agreed they could work together on.

Arras People had worked with the client on a previous assignment and they liked our values and approach. Arras People were able to apply additional knowledge in the operations management field to identify good candidates.

Events Project Co-ordinator
Southwark College, the further education college based in London used Arras People to secure a short term resource supporting learning and development based projects. Events management played a key part of the role - planning and managing key public events, workshops and conferences. Project experienced co-ordinators are a cost effective way of delivering small events based projects for a limited time.
