Recruitment of seasoned professionals
Due to the government review a number of changes have occurred in the Design Council – after a freeze on recruitment had been lifted it became imperative that the under-resourced project teams were addressed and swift actions were made to bring in seasoned support professionals with the right background and skill set to ensure ongoing programmes of work could meet deadlines.
Quality Candidates in a Short Turnaround Placement
Funding in place is quite restrictive for the level of candidates required to perform the role and the need to bring in top candidates at very short notice for two permanent roles and one fixed term contract meant the heat was on. Arras People Project Management Consultants have worked with the Design Council since 2007 and due to a strong understanding of the skill set and personality traits which the Design Council employ was able to quickly work on the requirement turning around the recruitment drive within a couple of days.
Continuously challenging and refining
Using the Arras People database and applications from the Arras People job board each experienced and qualified candidate was submitted in a shortlist to the client. After an initial telephone interview for a number of candidates, we narrowed it down to three candidates who were later invited in to interview face to face at the Design Council Offices. All three candidates were offered the different roles and all accepted.
Arras People work with their clients in the hopes of building more than just a winning formula - they endeavour to deliver a service clients can trust! We have built a strong relationship which the Design Council and will only put candidates who are in keeping with their requirements and really understand what is expected of them. Feedback has been very strong in regards to how swiftly and effectively we can meet their needs.
PMO Manager
Capital Ambition were looking for a Programme Assurance Manager to come on board and essentially run a lot of the Project Office activity at Capital Ambition. The role was to support upwards of 90 projects across the London boroughs, so they were looking for a candidate with a strong public sector background and - obviously - experience of managing not only PMOs, but delivering projects, too.

Call Centre Project Management
Fluency Voice Technology, recently acquired by Syntellect Ltd, a call centre software provider, used Arras People to appoint permanent project management resources. Working within the professional services department, the project manager's prime responsibility was delivering client projects. An understanding of call centre environments and Telephony, Voice and CTI technology alongside the project management skills were crucial.
