PMO is on the rise
The Project Management Office at DANTE was under-resourced and the workload had increased significantly to support the globally based associates which was set to grow. The challenge for Arras People was to source a candidate with a strong PMO and project administration background who had exposure to supporting global teams in a technical field and ideally have a second language. This was all working on a very limited budget for a 12 month contract.
Nicola = Relationship Builder
Nicola Thorp, the PMO consultant in charge of the role for Arras People, makes it her own personal goal to be a relationship builder and maintainer. More specifically, she actively works to engage and build relationships with groups of candidates within specialist areas such as the PMO domain – she was aware of a candidate who very closely matched the requirements for this role and after discussing with the candidate submitted them to the client.
Two Stage Interview Not Daunting
The candidate was offered the role after a two stage interview process and exceeded expectations – she is bi-lingual, has a stellar background in supporting programmes of work within a number of PMOs and lives locally to the client which means she can continue with a number of courses she had started recently.

Change Management
Powergen, the utility organisation, were looking for Project Managers to join their change management team within the consumer division. Experienced Business Project Managers who can lead the delivery of projects that will change their customer proposition; this included – launching new products; removing discontinued products; updating products or similar product and customer focused initiatives. Key to the role was a hands-on style - coaching and challenging the project managers within the team to ensure that all agreed delivery is to time, budget, scope and quality.
