Arras People maneuvered an overhaul in client recruitment think, then delivered
Cubic Transportation Systems is the UK arm of a global company (Cubic) offering systems solution predominantly in the Defence and Transportation sectors.
Cubic was part of the consortium charged with delivering the Oyster Card® for London Transport. They needed a Senior Project Manager to lead these big scale projects with experience of designing, building and installing IT systems.
Recruitment Process Overhaul = Candidates That Meet Specifications
Cubic Transportation Systems came to Arras People after having looked unsuccessfully for the new hire for 6 months. The candidate could come from a range of defence / software engineering / construction backgrounds but must have the big scale project experience. Being capable of managing a complex mix of disciplines; candidates must be as comfortable in the board room as they are at the coalface.
The first stage in Arras People's recruitment process overhaul for Cubic was to submit two pilot CVs to fine tune the requirements. Initial feedback was then used to identify suitable candidates. Understanding the needs of the client and only submitting candidates that met that brief ensured the client wasted no time on unsatisfactory candidates.
One and Done!
Arras submitted just a single candidate, but it was obvious from discussions that this was a critical placement. We helped Cubic Transportation to clarify any misgivings as well as keeping an enthusiastic candidate motivated through a lengthy process.
Rising to the Occasion
Arras People succeeded where other recruitment agencies failed. We listened, we learned, we guided and we found the guidelines and standards that Cubic Transportation Systems so desperately sought.
Arras has got something of a reputation for recruiting those difficult to fill project roles; when a new client approaches us after many months of trying to recruit the right staff, our initial requirement process helps to get to the bottom of the recruitment issue. Often there are issues related to rate of pay or location but usually it's not always the obvious reasons. If you're experiencing difficulties recruiting the right project management staff, contact us and find out more about the process we use to ensure success.
