Regulatory Reform Means Exceptional Project Professionals Required
Solvency II is quickly becoming central stage in insurance organisations and the need for project delivery teams to deliver regulatory reform has increased in the latter part of 2010 (Heads Up for the Project Management Marketplace - from the Camel)
BUPA had a number of “off shoot” projects from the regulatory reform – in this case the systems and data within the business was undergoing a period of substantial change.
Project Support is Required
Arras were approached by the internal recruiter for the Solvency II systems project with a need for a project support professional to undertake the management of project documentation and provide support to a busy, technical team.
A shortlist of candidates was initially presented and subsequently interviewed however feedback was that they were “too good”. Further consultations with BUPA about the requirement led to the discovery that ideally this would be a development role for the successful candidate - someone who understands the project lifecycle but can develop in the role. They felt the challenge was not huge to seasoned PMO professionals and feared they would move on before the project closed.
Assisting in Role Requirements
Our dedicated consultants in the field of PMO identified an exceptional candidate with enough experience to match minimum requirements but with clear drivers to progress their career within the project management environment. The candidate was interviewed and immediately offered the role with additional training offered too.
