Senior Business Systems Analyst

Purpose: Our client, a central government organisation are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to work on a major change programme on a 6/7 month contract. Major differences between this role and the AP-BA-73 Business Analyst:

  • Enable the expression of business requirements for the programme
  • Act as a focus for internal/external teams for business and user requirements
  • Work with teams to manage the development of detailed functional and non-functional requirements
  • Participate in the process of acceptance testing
  • Mentor and develop other team members
  • Work with procurement teams to create ITT's


You must have at least five years prior experience within this type of role, preferably within the healthcare or public sectors.

Salary Guide: to £400/day

Start Date: ASAP/ possible Jan 05

Skills:

  • At least five years experience in systems analysis and design - both process and data
  • At least five years experience of working within a project environment and or change programme
  • Experience of the full systems development lifecycle based on a recognised methodology (SSADM, RUP etc)
  • Attained certification in a recognised methodology or demonstrate detailed knowledge of systems development methodologies
  • Experienced in the use of business process / system modelling tools, such as UML (e.g. Rational), Business Process Modelling tools (e.g. MooD) and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and related issues of implementation
  • Experience of planning and managing user workshops to achieve a common understanding and definition of requirements, which are then used to produce an Invitation to Tender (ITT) or equivalent document
  • Experience of requirements engineering (elicitation, specification, validation and management)
  • Experience of Healthcare Informatics (Public or Independent) with a clear understanding of national standards for data and strategic development such as the National Programme for Information Technology
  • Experience of defining, managing and completing user acceptance testing
  • Experience of providing guidance / training / mentoring to more junior team members

  • Experience of communicating with senior members of management and executive team
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Good training/mentoring/coaching skills
