Job Search Support Services
Arras People & Jobsearch Support Service

Arras People are pleased to confirm that since April 2009 we have been a selected organisation which is able to work alongside the DWP to deliver Jobsearch Support Service for Newly Unemployed Professionals. Such is the regard for our efforts that in July 2010, the DWP honoured Arras People with DWP Provider Accreditation status.
As part of the Government's response to the economic downturn the DWP introduced a range of additional services for their customers, a key element of that response, being the Jobsearch Support Service for Newly Unemployed Professionals. This service is targeted principally at professional or executive jobseekers in receipt of Job Seekers Allowanc
e (JSA), who have become unemployed after a period of long term employment.
Arras People have been successfully delivering these free services across the whole of the UK to Project Professionals (and others) as an extension of our current candidate support offerings. Those who are eligible receive free career counselling and guidance on topics such as skills audit, CV writing, interviewing skills, market intelligence and job search techniques in order to enhance their job searching capability.
So, should you find yourself in that unfortunate position of being a Newly Unemployed Professional, ask your Jobcentre Plus Adviser about this service and for Arras People by name to get a referral to our services.
What is the JobSearch Support Services for Newly Unemployed Professionals?
As part of the Government's response to the economic downturn the DWP introduced a range of services including additional help for people at risk of losing their jobs, extra support for newly unemployed customers and a wider range of support options after 6 months of unemployment.
The Jobsearch Support Service for Newly Unemployed Professionals is targeted principally at professional or executive jobseekers in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) who have become unemployed after a period of long term employment. Eligible customers typically have little or no experience of the current job market but have the confidence and motivation to seek work independently.
The delivery model for this service through Arras People is a series of one to one telephone sessions which provide a package of focused, intensive, job search support modules.
What kind of services can I gain access to?
The services provided for clients engaged on the Jobsearch Support Service for Newly Unemployed Professionals have evolved from our existing Project Management Careers Clinics. Participants receive a dedicated service with an Arras People consultant which is personalised to their current situation, experience and aspirations. By choosing from a menu of available services we are able to personalise guidance and advice to suit the client rather than providing a generic one day classroom based service.
Topics and areas include:
- Personal stocktaking
- CV construction advice
- Project management market intelligence
