Lindsay presents at Project Challenge

After a year off from Project Challenge in 2011, Lindsay is back with a new presentation on The Programme and Project Management Stakes for 2012. Lindsay will be making the presentation on behalf of PMI – Project Management Institute – in her capacity of project management careers advisor for PMI’s monthly magazine – PM Network.

Project Challenge takes place on the 21st and 22nd March 2012 at London’s Olympia conference and exhibition venue. Lindsay will be there on Thursday 22nd March presenting at 3pm. Lindsay will also be available on the PMI stand before and afterwards for anyone looking for some general project management careers advice.

The Programme and Project Management Stakes is an analysis of project management recruitment in the context of a highly competitive ‘race’. As the runners and riders line up we take a look at the hurdles and pitfalls throughout the course and provide insights into how you can stay the distance. We will look at ‘weighing in’, getting prepared in the project management paddock with a variety of tools and strategies; ‘lining up’ and we delve deeper into organisation’s
requirements for project managers; ‘pulling up’ looks at how to avoid being knocked out in the early stages; ‘The Chair’ covers interviews; ‘also ran’ uncovers assessment and testing and of course ‘on the nose’.

“This year I decided to take a wider look at the recruitment cycle,” said Lindsay when confirming her attendance, “in previous years I’ve covered the difficulties project manager’s face in finding a new job and this year I wanted to go beyond that. It’s still important to cover the difficulties and what people can do to overcome that but it’s also just as important to look at organisation’s requirements, interviews and assessments”

Project Challenge is free entry for programme and project management practitioners and includes free seminars in a variety of subjects. Visit the site for more information and plan your visit.
