Women of Project Management, Unite!

Ada Lovelace Day, the international day of blogging to draw attention to women excelling in technology and science, is back for another turn in 2010.

On 24 March 2010, organisers for this celebration of the unacknowledged, seldom mentioned women who make significant contributions to advancement hope to reach 3072 bloggers  who will write a tribute to specific women who have made these contributions. Last year, How to Manage a Camel wrote about the inventor of the dishwashing machine, Josephine Cochrane, and the obstacles she faced in the late-19th/early-20th century. We intend to post on 24th March this year as well.

Last year, organisers say that over 1200 people signed on to blog about women’s pledges to honour Ada Lovelace Day, earning memtion from BBC News Channel and other forms of national press. If you’d like to become one of those 3072 bloggers, sign the pledge at http://www.findingada.com/.

If you have some suggestions for us as to who would be a good woman to celebrate, we’d love to hear from you. Who would you suggest we should write about? Let us know. Leave a comment and be a part of our Freedom of Speech February, each week we will be giving away free project management methodology software licences to readers who provide comments, view, opinions or just other resources that other readers will find useful and interesting.
