I Want Views! Welcome to Freedom of Speech February

“Five hundred! Five hundred dollars! Five hun-d-red dollars! Five hundred dollars! Five, five hundred dollars! Five hundred dollars! Five h-h-hundred!”

Paraphrased version of Danny DeVito’s “Vincent Benedict” in Twins, 1988

With help from Uncle Sam, How to Manage a Camel encourages project professionals from all stripes, nationalities and creeds to exchange project management knowledge out in the open this month. Go to our own miniature version of Hyde Park Corner - the Comments section - and exercise your right to entertain, inform and keep colleagues abreast of project management knowledge and tools.

OK, so we had to paraphrase it. But you’ve got to admit, a $500 (£310) deal is hard to beat. We’re going to put it to the other guys to try to do it, though.

In collaboration with Method 123, How to Manage a Camel presents Freedom of Speech February, a celebration of project professionals keen to share their knowledge, expertise, a good article or to simply have a rant about the issues surrounding project management all month long. We’re giving you the forum to do it in each and every day here at the Camel: your mouthpiece, as it were, is the Comments section at the end of every post. Whether you choose to talk about the blog post or contribute your two cents (or pence) about something else in the world of projects, our version of Uncle Sam (pictured at right) wants views! And he wants them from you!

Now, about that $500 value…

In conjunction with Method 123, we want to reward some of the best comments our readers list with a free methodology package on offer - the Method123 Project Management Methodology (MPMM) Professional, an individualised methodology tool tailored for PM professionals. You guessed it: a $500 value (OK again: $495, £310..) for free.

Here’s what you get with MPMM Professional:

  • The only project management methodology available on the market for immediate download;
  • Based on worldwide industry standards PMBOK® and Prince2®
  • Suitable for any industry and/or size of project;
  • Provides methodology, templates and examples that save time, effort, and allows opportunity to instruct;
  • It spearheads your abilities to set up project offices, establish project teams, create project plans, risk management plans, financial plans, quality plans and so much more.

It’s a relevant, useful prize to give to those project management professionals out there who care enough about the project management industry to see to it that experience, expertise, acquired knowledge, potential pitfalls and daily happenings in their careers can serve as tools of teaching, sharing and improving. We here at the Camel are looking forward to those of you who choose to comment  in a thought-provoking, analytical and logical way (so no rudeness or unprintable material please!)

That has an immeasurable value to all of us.

MORE ON FREEDOM OF SPEECH FEBRUARY

At How to Manage a Camel, there is a Comment section at the end of each blogpost. Every working day throughout February, a new post will go up, providing new opportunities for you to add comments, thought-provoking ideas, links to articles and blogs that can be of some use to colleagues and hopeful entrants into the project management industry. We will reward the individuals who post the best comments throughout the month. The idea is to be thought-provoking, helpful, and to see how well our readers can strike at the heart of an issue regarding our profession. Starting now!
