Unless you’ve been down a mineshaft for the last few months you will have heard about Twitter, the social networking site. It’s a good experience for project managers or those interested in project management because there are already a few hundred quality project managers online. Posting comments and links to project management articles, blogs and news which might be of interest to you and could even help with your CPD (Continuing Professional Development) activity.
If you’re unsure about it or not had chance to set up an account yet, here’s how to get started:
1. Head over to Twitter to set up an account
2. Right, the account is all set up but it’s empty, you need to find people you’re interested in. In the search field type #pmot
3. #pmot stands for Project Managers on Twitter. Each person is posting a project management related message (or tweet) and tagging their message with #pmot
4. View the person by clicking on their name, you’ll also be able to see some of their previous posts. If you like them, just choose the Follow button
5. View the Plan Is – Real time reputation scores for Project Managers on Twitter, this gives a list of Project Managers on Twitter. Just choose a name and you’ll be able to see more about them and their previous posts
If you’d like to follow the Camel, just click on the image above.

I’ve tried Facebook, MySpace, etc., but not Twitter. Thanks for the tips about how to get started – there is certainly a thriving project management community on there!
