Tipping Off in Just One Week

August 2010 will be another time to reflect on Tipoffs past, as we at Arras People delve into our archives to give you a bit of nostalgia on our advice about making solid career changes. Last month, we introduced the Nostalgic series, a three-part collection of rants and ravings from the Project Management Tipoffs newsletter revolving around a central theme. But it’s not all nostalgia – far from it. We modernise these writings as well, as we’re keen to re-hash principles, but with a 2010, post-recession-centric vision to it.

Here’s what you can look for in Project Management Tipoffs simply by registering today (if you haven’t yet done so, that is):

  • Making the Switch from Permanent Employment to Contractor – and vice versa: If you’ve ever wanted to make the leap from one side of work to the other, we’ll tell you what you’ll need to be ready for.
  • What Makes People Want to Leave Their Job? A survey of some leading project & programme management practitioners reveals some of the leading reasons for career changes.
  • The Funetic Alphabet Book Giveaway: If you want to review a book for a future edition of Tipoffs, then take part in this entertaining exercise!
  • Book Review: Critical Chain Project Management (2nd Edition), Lawrence Leach: Guest book reviewer and veteran senior PM Peter McKenzie-Midland provides readers with the impressions on Leach’s second go-round with Critical Chain PM.
  • Our Regular Question & Answer of the Month: Mick Hides assumes the leadership chair for August’s selected question.

And as always, we offer readers the chance to become listeners to Project Management Tipoffs. Go to our podcast page, subscribe to our regular feed, or download us on iTunes.
