For those of you keen on our monthly newsletter, Project Management Tipoffs, you might know that we try to keep our readers abreast of what’s happening in both project management & PPM related recruitment trends. In so doing, we try to alert readers of what issues we have coming up on our Running Schedule page.

Today, I want to make mention of how we’re attempting to cull more information about the September issue, which tackles higher education’s expanding role in project manager training and development. As we are seeking a wealth of input from a variety of potential contributors (educators, project managers, employers and both mature & professional students), we have a variety of outlets and manners in search of theirs (and your) input on the matter. We have plenty of philosophy from practitioners thus far – more input from educators and employers of project management are necessary for posterity and to give the data an evenness.
Here are just a few ways to lend a hand:
- LinkedIn Group Discussions: The Arras People Group page is hosting a discussion on Higher Education (LinkedIn members join here; sign up to LinkedIn here). The discussion also takes place in a number of other LI groups: The Association for Project Management, Project Managers on Twitter, and the PMOSIG, to name a few.
- Survey: At Survey Monkey, we’ve got a nice Higher Education survey that tries to get candidates’ views on all training methodologies and determines what the climate is like at the moment for the university trying to develop project managers of tomorrow.
- DM me (Twitter) or email me with your thoughts about some uni-related topics, like:
- Higher education’s role in a project manager’s CPD
- An employer’s view of a PM-related degree in hiring
- A practising PM/student on the comparisons between what training companies & universities have to offer PPM personnel
- Or, if you have a relatable article idea you want to throw our way. We’re always looking for contributors
That final tidbit goes for any upcoming editions and beyond as well – we’re always open for guest contributions to Tipoffs, as well as here at How to Manage a Camel. Get in touch.
