Spot the difference!

I am continually amazed by the number of “Project Management people” who fail to spot the difference between the APM (Association for Project Management) and the APMG-UK.

I see a number of CV’s from candidates who believe that by passing their Prince2 they have automatically become a member of the APM?

This is further backed up by the last Arras People Benchmark Report 2009 where many respondents again believed that they had gained APM membership upon passing their Prince2 training!

I realise that APM and APMG look very similar and also are both related to Project Management, but please, a quick look on the interweb and you soon notice the difference and avoid the embarrassment!

OK, Tuesday morning rant over.

Just for clarity;

APMG-UK specialises in the accreditation and certification of organisations, processes and people, within a range of industries and management disciplines and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The APM Group Ltd.

APM is the largest independent professional body of its kind in Europe. Our aim is to develop and promote project management across all sectors of industry and beyond.
