Monday Morning Links – 26th October

“You can observe a lot just by watching.”
Yogi Berra

It’s en vogue and a bit overdone, even for an English blog, to quote Yogi Berra. And though the Hall of Fame baseball star may have been stating the obvious, the so-called Yogism above that resulted is not the sheer quote of buffoonery so many make it out to be. A point is being made – watch intently and eagerly. Pay close attention to the details. Make a mental note. Berra, perhaps inadvertantly, is trying to teach us that by hanging in there and just watching what’s going on, you might stumble upon a moment, lesson, or skillset (or three) that can help you down the road.

We want to be worth paying attention to, giving you the lowdown on things that can help you get better as a programme or project management professional. It’s about putting you on the road to be a more effective project manager.

Because if you don’t know where you are going, you will wind up somewhere else. (The man simply makes it too easy!)

Five For Linking

Tweeter to Watch: @GBlancLaine – The QTask Sales & Marketing VP has been there since I started tweeting and has not stopped. As marketers would do. Links to a lot of good worldly articles, not always project-related but often project relatable.

Shameless Arras / Camel Plug: We ratchet our shame up a notch, adding a bit of promotion as well – it’s none other than our graduates only page. Take special note that graduates are able to request referral to the JobSearch Support Services for Unemployed Professionals. Though we wish it weren’t so, not everyone is able to hit the ground running after receiving their degree. When graduates need a hand in careers services like job interviews, CVs, filling out job applications, understanding the job market and much more, we are ready and able to help them. Email us for more information.
