Description: Contract NHS Project Manager required with experience of delivery clinical services based projects. Following the Framework for Action publication, this PCT based in Greater London has instigated a new programme of work which will cover multiple workstreams (e.g., trauma centre, stroke services, maternity services, polyclinics etc). The Project Manager must have prior experience of working within the NHS on new clinical service implementations.
The role of the Project Manager within this programme is to ensure that the service change projects allocated within the workstream are undertaken within a common project framework, that interdependencies are identified, that common methodologies and processes are utilised and that delivery is monitored and reported on to the Programme Board, so that the overall objectives of the Programme are met to time and budget.
Working closely with clinicians, it is imperative that you are able to demonstrate experience of previous clinical project implementations. The successful candidate will hold a relevant project management qualification, have experience of implementing change within the NHS environment, operational management experience, excellent stakeholder management skills and excellent communication skills at all levels of the NHS structure.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- To take an active role in, and, provide project manager support to more than one service change project simultaneously.
- To be responsible for overseeing the management and monitoring of progress within individual Service Change projects ensuring that progress is in line with the overall programme project plan highlighting variances
- To assimilate a wide range of complex and sensitive information from service areas and service change projects including progress reports. To access this information to provide assurance to the programme board that progress momentum is on-going and can be maintained.
- Establish and implement appropriate project methodology, project framework and processes and standardised documents across all service change projects.
- Produce all project documentation including PID, Project Plans, Implementation Plans, Milestone Plans, Highlight reports and any other documentation as required by the Programme Director
- In conjunction with service change lead directors and lead clinicians design, develop and implement effective systems to identify responsibility for remedial action to deliver elements of the transition plan where performance is variant from the plan.
- Using your position of involvement across a range of service change projects identify interdependencies between each project and ensure these are incorporated in the relevant project plans and overall transition plan to ensure maximum efficiency in programme delivery.
- In conjunction with the lead directors and clinical leads ensure that each service change project has appropriate structures in place to ensure robust and wide scale consultation and input into the clinical design process from clinical teams, operational teams, staff, service users and support services
- Develop and maintain project risk registers ensuring that all project risks are identified, recorded, categorised, and reviewed regularly. Ensure appropriate risk treatment plans are developed and implemented
- Develop and maintain a project issues logs to ensure all project critical issues are identified and addressed in a clear and consistent manner
