Last Friday, our Newsroom reported on how Arras People had acquired the popular website PPM Community and its assets, giving us the oversight of one of the web’s top portals for all blogs pertaining to portfolio, programme and project management issues.
I wanted to give you a rundown of exactly what this addition to our arsenal of resources means:
- PPM Community has a database with features focused specifically on the blogs themselves, as well as the people behind those blogs. Yes, How to Manage a Camel is one of them, and as an example for what a featured profile looks like, the Camel’s writeup is a great place to start.
- If you didn’t notice it in the Newsroom article, can you BELIEVE THOSE GOOGLE RANKINGS? For a two-person operation that ran it in their spare time beginning last year, PPM Community thrived in some pretty influential keyword searches. Amy and Lawrence have been a little engine that could for the site thus far in terms of influencing. Take a look at how PPM Community shapes up amongst Google Search keywords:
- “ppm blogosphere” (1st through 4th)
- “ppm blogs” (1st & 2nd slots)
- “programme management blogosphere” (2nd through 4th)
- “project & programme management blog” (5th)
That…is heavy-duty keyword influence!
- We bring with us to the PPM Community a wealth of followers that can be of a great help to the website’s already strong following. 16,000 subscribers to our newsletter, not to mention a strong following of this blog, lends a host of new possibilities for PPMC. And, most upliftingly…
- Arras People will still be soliciting new project & programme management-related blogs onto the portal. If it ain’t broke…
Amy, for one, is ecstatic about the bond PPMC and Arras People can now develop.
“Arras People gives us exposure we otherwise couldn’t dream of ascertaining on a grand marketing scale,” she told us recently. “With their influence amongst project managers on Twitter and LinkedIn, not to mention the people Lindsay reaches through her various writings – which is a must-read for me, Arras People is far and away the best vehicle to expand PPM Community into the new decade.”
