Once you’ve put down the sandwich (Sandwich Day), got a bloke to make dinner (Men Make Dinner Day) and found light at the end of the tunnel (National Cliché Day) you can celebrate International Project Management Day today, the 3rd November 2011.
It takes place on the first Thursday in November and is still a relatively unknown date even for those who work in project management. I blogged about it last year and this year I’m going to go a step further and actually get together with others in the project management field. Today the Project Management Institute are hosting a conference in London called Synergy. I’ll post up what I thought about the event afterwards and you can also check out my twitter timeline from the day.
There’s also an online event from IIL featuring a wide range of experts and thought leaders from all sides of the industry who will share their knowledge through recorded video presentations. The events page on the IPM website shows a small collection of events taking place (let’s hope that continues to grow over the coming years!)
If you do nothing else today, just take a breather for a few minutes, reflect on the brilliant profession you work in and give yourself a pat on the back
Happy PM Day!
