Arras People offers free PM course giveaway through Villanova University


Arras People are pleased to offer free to one lucky participant a free course (valued at $2,000) courtesy of our friends at Villanova University in Philadelphia, in one of eight sub-concentrations within the Master’s Certificate program in project management. See below for the courses on offer.

In return, we need your own truthful, candid review about the course you took and the pros and cons it offers to participants. Our goal is to have you contribute one post per week for the duration of the estimated eight week course period.

MORE ABOUT VILLANOVA

Villanova University is a private, Catholic four-year institution, the oldest Catholic university in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (established 1842). Villanova is able to offer online Master’s certifications through its affiliation the University Alliance in a variety of disciplines, including project management, Six Sigma, contract management, IS security, business analysis, software testing, human resources, ROI methodology and leadership.


VILLANOVA & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Villanova University’s online certificate programmes offer several different courses in Project Management concentration, all of which can lead to Master’s Certification in specific PPM disciplines, including IS/IT Project Management and Applied Project Management. In part through their Engineers Without Borders (EWB) program, Villanova is recognised by highly esteemed governing body the Project Management Institute (PMI), which in 2006 recognised Villanova EWB as the only student organization to win an award from the regional Project Management Institute, receiving an Honorable Mention from PMI for project of the year. A more recent project involved designing and building a water treatment and distribution system which provided an orphanage and surrounding villages in northern Thailand with drinking water and irrigation for their crops. There are also plans for a variety of projects in the Philadelphia area, including K-12 outreach programs, as well as many more international projects.

You should be able to commit to an eight week course and one article per week for the duration of the course. Articles will be approx 300 words. Courses start at varying times within January / February 2011.
