Project Planner required for a 3 month contract on a part time basis of 2 days a week by our client who are a museum and science based institution situated in London. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will provide a planning, administration and coordination service to 4 major projects within the programme.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Planner with either Prince2 accreditation or equivalent experience. A background of providing planning support in a similar museum based environment would be highly beneficial. You will be responsible for all areas of planning support including maintenance of project plans, assisting in developing scope definition and Risk Analysis. As you will be working across 4 major projects you will also be adept at monitoring interdependencies across projects.

• Apply a product based approach to planning to define project scope, stages and tasks to establish plan milestones and priorities.
• Attend project meetings as required to gather data for development and maintenance of project plans.
• Assist Project Managers in the production and maintenance of project plans.
• Maintain coherent project organisation structures and logical sets of project plans to assure trust cross project dependencies.
• Monitor cross-programme and cross-project dependencies and merge or coordinate as required.
• Provide high quality analysis and evaluation of customer requirements, to ensure that the appropriate advice, guidance and support is given.
• Assist in requirements capture and analysis meetings at the initiation stage.
• Facilitate and provide logisitics support to a variety of workshops on behalf of customers, such as Start up, Planning, Risk Analysis and Project Closure. Write detailed reports on the outcomes of these workshops for the project team.
• Build and maintain a library of reference materials, including books, videos and manuals.
• Establish systems for controlling project records and ensure project managers are trained and supported in the process.
• Establish project/programme filing structure and ensure document and version control is followed.
• Collate and maintain resource plans as appropriate to support the programme work streams.
• Assist in the performance of project/programme health checks as required
• Co-ordinate quality reviews and change control activities.
• Help museum staff and departments define and record project/programme benefits and provide administrative support in the construction of business cases if required.
